The security of a Fidlock bottle is pretty easy to explain from a physics perspective. All the usual forces that your bottle is subject to during, let's say, a mountain bike ride are accounted for in the Fidlock system. Twists, turns, bumps and valleys on your ride exert centripetal forces on you and everything attached to your rig: including your water bottle.
Using a standard cage mount, enough of these forces will push your water bottle out of its cage.
Using the Fidlock TWIST bottle, however, these forces do nothing to your bottle. These forces are unidirectional. They're trying to push the entire bottle either up, down, left or right out of its mount, which isn't possible by design.
The only possible way to remove the bottle is with a simple twist. A twist isn't a force that your bottle is subject to during even the most intense mountain bike rides, but it's an extremely simply motion to perform to release your bottle.
